The San Juan Mountain Range in Southwestern Colorado has got to be one of the most jaw-dropping places I’ve ever been and Maddy and Nathan’s fall Telluride jeeping elopement was nothing short of magical!

Maddy, Nathan, and I met at their Airbnb before the sun had even come up. We threw all of our stuff into their jeep and took off towards the mountains. Making our way through groves of yellow Aspen trees, stopping along the way to soak in the views, we found the perfect spot for their ceremony.

They exchanged vows as the sun rose above the mountains, lighting up the town of Telluride. It was truly such an incredible sunrise! After a their thoughtful exchange of vows, they set up a picnic and watched as the sun warmed up the San Juan Mountains.

Side note: If you’re not into the idea of hiking for your wedding, consider a Telluride jeeping elopement! It is one of the best ways to experience this part of Colorado. By renting a Jeep or going on a Jeep tour, you can access some really incredible locations without hiking at all! This company and this company offer Jeep tours in Telluride.

Eloping in the Fall in Colorado

Maddy and Nathan chose September for their Telluride jeeping elopement because they really wanted those gorgeous fall colors. And boy, did they get it! I have never seen the mountains so yellow! The Aspen trees were almost completely yellow for their elopement and they could not have been happier.

September is by far one of my favorite Colorado elopement months because the Aspen trees paint the mountains yellow, the weather is beautiful, and the trails are open and accessible! Pro tip for this month: Choose to elope during the week (Monday-Thursday) for more privacy. The weekends are pretty crazy year-round in Colorado, and leaf peeping season is very crowded in the mountains.

Are you looking for the best places to elope in Colorado for those fall colors? Then this blog is for you!
